Laravel development for companies in Karlsruhe
In Karlsruhe there is more often somebody across the table who develops themselves. That changes the conversations, and for the better.
There are first conversations in which we spend twenty minutes explaining the difference between an interface and a database. In Karlsruhe that rarely happens to us.
The city has an unusually high density of software houses, plus the KIT, the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, a research centre for computer science and a high-tech network among the larger of its kind in Europe. IT security is a focus of its own. You notice it at the table.
Specific rather than vague
When the person opposite develops themselves, the usual misunderstandings disappear early. Instead of talking about effort in general, we talk about concrete decisions: what structure the data gets, where a queue makes sense, whether a requirement really has to be met in real time or whether a minute’s delay is enough.
That makes quotations more accurate and projects calmer. It does assume that we can justify what we do rather than merely assert it. What we hold to is under Laravel development.
We work inside your process
Where there is a development team of your own, we follow its rules. Your repository, your branching, your checks before anything goes in. We bring no toolbox of our own that would have to be set up alongside.
The same holds the other way. When something strikes us, we say so rather than quietly going along with it. A second opinion is often the real value of bringing somebody in from outside. What that looks like as an engagement in its own right is under consulting and code audit.
Security as a design question
In a city where IT security is a cluster of its own, it is rarely asked about only at the end. That suits us, because the interesting decisions fall early anyway. How permissions get checked, and at every point rather than only in the interface. What ends up in logs and what explicitly does not. Which data may sit in a test environment.
Taking these points into the design costs little. Retrofitting them after a review report has listed them costs a multiple, because by then the data model and the interface hang off them.
Handover is part of the brief
A project that only runs as long as we work on it is not one we would be happy with. So we write so that another team can get on: close to the framework, with tests where the business logic sits, and with notes on the decisions you can no longer see in a finished result.
At handover we go through that together rather than sending a folder. An hour at the screen replaces twenty pages of documentation nobody reads.
